Stay a few minutes after church on the fourth Sunday of each month for fellowship and refreshments on the lawn (or alternate location) to meet visitors and new members of Central’s congregation.

Middle and high school students are encouraged to participate in Central’s youth activities usually on the first Sunday of every month, 12:15 p.m.- 2 p.m.   Central’s youth prepare and deliver devotions, plan and participate in church fundraisers, schedule fellowship outings and provide community service in numerous ways.  Every summer the group spends a week in the North Carolina mountains at a CCC work camp or ministering to the homeless for CCC HOME.  Visitors are always welcome to youth fellowship meetings.  Contact Christian Education Director Christy Bost at 704-536-9157.

United Methodist Women

United Methodist Women (UMW) is a community of women who attend Central whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church. UMW has four general meetings a year.  Two very active circles meet monthly for study, mission work and fellowship.  Opportunities for special mission studies, prayer and spiritual life growth occur throughout the year.

A Circle of United Methodist Women meets each third Wednesday of the month 10:30 am at the church.  The members have committed to a new mission project providing several social events for the 120 residents of The Brian Center on Reddman Rd.  They make sure that each resident gets a birthday card and a goodie bag at parties during the year.

United Methodist Men

United Methodist Men (UMM) meet at the church for a full breakfast at 8 a.m. on the first Sunday of each month, except July. This monthly event, open to all men in the church, is followed by a devotion or program and a short business meeting.

UMM holds an annual barbecue to raise funds for the church and its missions.  Area police and firefighters are always invited to be our guests.
